Sri Krishna Matha
Udupi's most revered pilgrim site, founded by the saint-philosopher Sri Madhwacharya in the 13th century. Visitors can view the famous Krishna idol through the Kanakana Kindi window, watch the daily rituals, and enjoy a simple meal at the temple's community kitchen. It's a peaceful, must-see stop for anyone curious about Udupi's spiritual heritage.
Malpe Beach
One of Udupi's most popular beaches, Malpe is known for its long stretch of golden sand, gentle waves and a lively fishing harbour. It's also the launch point for boat rides to St. Mary's Island, making it an easy half-day trip that pairs a relaxed beach walk with a bit of adventure on the water.
Korgajja Temple
A small coastal shrine devoted to the local folk deity Korgajja, deeply woven into the daily life of Udupi's fishing communities. The temple has a quieter, more local character than the bigger pilgrim sites, making it a good stop for anyone interested in the coast's traditions and everyday devotional life.
St. Mary's Island
Famous for its striking hexagonal basalt rock columns, St. Mary's Island is reached by a short, scenic boat ride from Malpe. It's a unique geological sight found in very few places in the world, and a favourite spot for photos, quiet exploring and watching the Arabian Sea from the rocks.
Kaup Beach
Right in Evara's own neighbourhood, Kaup Beach is loved for its clean shoreline and the red-and-white heritage lighthouse overlooking the sea, built in 1901. Climb up for sweeping coastal views, or simply settle in for one of the best sunsets on this stretch of the coast — all just steps from the resort.
Maravanthe Beach
A short drive up the coast, Maravanthe is famous for the rare stretch where National Highway 66 runs with the Arabian Sea on one side and the Souparnika River on the other. It's a favourite for a scenic evening drive, with the beach itself perfect for a long, quiet walk as the sun goes down over the water.
